Atmospheric Translations (Parts)
During the time of the pandemic, I spent the vast majority of my day sitting at my computer doing zoom classes. Naturally, I often looked at the window and the outdoors. This inspired me to compose a piece about what I was seeing; the sky. The piece intends to portray how nature can be both beautiful and powerful. At times, melodic gestures and consonant harmonies make the listener feel as though they are feeling a gentle breeze on a sunny day. At other times, percussion sound effects and harsh dissonances make the listener feel as though they are in the middle of a storm.
